Sparkly Aubergine and Olive Green Nails

Hello Girls, I have bright nail art for you today. I am in the process of digging my stash for oldest unused polishes which are gorgeous yet unused. One such polish I stumbled upon is El Corazon Magic of Arabian Night. It’s a beautiful mysterious deep Aubergine color with lovely red – purple- magenta flecks within. It was lying unused for such a long time. See the macro below which says it all.

Since the polish was gorgeous on its own, I wanted minimalistic designs. I wanted to use a different metallic polish for stamping than Gold and Silver. I was hoping to find something pretty but unused. I found KleanColor Metallic Green, woah!

I had it for 2 years and never used it. The stamping plate is from UberChic 06-03. I wanted the nail art to look uncluttered and classy. So I just stamped on my accent and thumb. I needed something different on one of the nails to just compliment and complement the Olive green stamping. But had no idea what possibly could qualify?

Then I remember my hex glitter set which had a very similar Olive Green. I pulled it out and sponged the glitter on the tips of my pointer. But my husband kind of disapproved it saying it looked too casual and common. I removed it and repainted the base coat, two coats of polish and top coat.

Now I thought let me do a vertical half stamping on one of the nails and border the half with hex glitter. I used straight vinyls to define territories. But after stamping when I attempted to pull it out, it came along with my base!!!

I can’t tell you how mad I was. Really, I just re-did that nail and now everything stuck to vinyl and just ripped off! Apparently the base polish wasn’t still rock dry.

Desperate to work out something successful, I repainted my nail. And then like a lighting moment an idea came and I just made stripe of the hex glitters. It looked so much more neat, classy and organised. Just what my nail art wanted. Ofcourse it took time to stick every hex on my dotting tool and transfer at exact places on my nails. But it was worth. What do you say girls? Also what do feel on my new nail shape, or was the Squaoval better?
