Hello Girls, I have indulged into a lot of mini sets these days. I realised that anyways, we barely use 1/10th of a polish even after combining its entire life span with us. 80% of our polishes are used to a maximum of 2-3 times in an year and rest 20% are simply untried. So I thought Mini sets are good option to try out polishes without guilt of wasting it. Out of all the mini sets I saw and bought, Color Club minis made most sense to me. It is neither too less, not too more. They are 7ml approx which is just fine and should at least last upto 10-15 applications. I am reviewing Color Club Pastel Neon Collection Mini Set today.
First up for review is ‘Meet Me At the Rink’. It is the most calm and serene colour out of the lot. It is a soft, light yet bright blue. If I had to simplify, I would say bright sky blue color. The colours are very bright and subtle at the same time. The colours are like neon, make your hand somewhat tan but the intensity of color is not very high. In the lamest description I would say they look like neons have been bleached.
The polish is cream and dries out shiny. I applied two coats and they are good for opacity. It is very soothing and the formula is great.
Second in the queue is ‘Disco Is Not Dead’. It is a bright dusty yellow. I don’t know how to describe the color exactly but it’s pale and bright at the same time. I have a lot of pastel yellows so this one didn’t seem different to me except one difference. They make your hands look tan like neon. It is on similar lines with NYX Pastel Yellow, Sally Hansen Teeny Bikini etc which I have but with a neon element. Nonetheless, it is a very pretty color.
But unlike its dupes, it makes my hands look tan inspite of being a mellow colour.I applied two coats of it but you could do three thin coats as well get opacity.
This one is my favourite out of the collection and it’s called “Til The Record Stops”. I feel it’s a neon mint green colours. It’s the most fresh and bright green in my stash. The colour is so soft yet neon.
It just lifts up your mood and makes you feel lively. I may have to order a full bottle of this soon I feel. The polishes are cream and dry glossy.
Last on my review list is “Hot Hot Hot Pants”, hilarious name. It is a neon peach colour. It also looks very soft in bottle but on nails it gives that phunk of neon. I have lots of peach orange neon but because of the fact that these are pastel neon, it stands apart.
This is the softest of the pastel neon sets and looks least neon to me. Which is good because others (esp Disco is Not Dead) makes my hands look so dark. This one is bright but soft. I loved it.
If you feel uncomfortable to carry neon, pastel neon should be your blind pick. They have goodness and punch of neon and subtleness of pastel. For me this collection is a hit. How about you?
