Hi Girls, Keeping my madness to bright and neons true here is another nail art of mine. It is bright, popping and reminds me of very colourful Beach Towel.
I saw this initially at Yagala’s Instagram account and they seemed too colourful to ignore. The design looked quite simple and pushed me to try. Only when I started doing it I realised how painful can putting endless colourful stripes on nails be? But with each stripe the nails would look so pretty and awake that the hassle seemed worth.
The technique is basic, taking out a striper and drawing colourful crisp stripes sidewise; but neatness and color combination is the key. It takes lot of patience. Also it got me thinking that in midst of so many advanced and complicated techniques; we forget to explore the basics. I could never imagine that these stripes could look prettier than freehand or stamping or leadlight or pond mani or stamping decal or negative space or water marble and so on. I thank Yagala with all my heart for reminding me this.
I did a plain white base with Sally Hansen White Out and allowed it to dry. Then I took out my striper and dipped in endless neons/brights to draw thin lines covering my nails. I used Models Own Polish for Tans Sunhat, Beach Bag, Flip Flop, Purple Gleam, Turquoiuse and Salon Perfect Traffic Cone and some other neon polishes that I am forgetting right now.
When the base dried up, I topped it up with my favourite glitter topper from Barry M. It is a pinkish holo glitter suspended in a clear base. It looks so sparkly and multicolour that it makes me happy every time I look at it. There is one thing more to this nail art is that I applied the Peel Off Base Coat from BornPretty Store sent to me for review. I knew there is going to be a heavy work on the nails and plus the glitter topper would even make it worse to remove the polish. So like a wise girl, I applied the peel off base coat. This was my first stint with BPS Peel Off and it does its job well. You can see how well the polish came off, mostly one piece. You can buy the Peel Off Base Coat here and also get a 10% discount sitewide with coupon code HQBQ10. The item description says that it can be used as Peel Off Base Coat as well as Peel Off Liquid Tape. I have yet to try it as Liquid Tape. However, I feel the liquid is on thicker side or it’s just my piece which is a little goopy. But this did not create any performance issue.
Anyways, I had an itch so I messed this beauty with stamping. I used UberChic plate for this and I repenting my decision to stamp at all. The stripes were better on their own. What do you say?
