Hey Sugars, I have to share today a coveted and raved about polish from Max Factor- Fantasy Fire. There has been so much said about this polish already. I have also read/heard people saying that this one polish that a nail polish lover must definitely have.
Well, I pounced on it the first time I saw it. No honestly, the second time. Because the first time I saw in some mall it was sold at its mrp which is Rs 350-375 I guess. It is on higher side for a 5 ml bottle. So I didn’t take it then but I knew from where I could get it. I went to Beauty Centre the coming weekend with a friend of mine. There they had old stock of Max Factors and hence after the usual discount on old mrp, I paid around Rs 220 for this baby.
Price and Quantity: Rs 350-375 for 5ml.
Colour and Finish: Well, I don’t know what I should comprehend about the colour because although it may look purple-violet-pink kinds; it behaves very different on different bases. It is a sheer polish and mostly difficult to be worn alone (unless you are prepared for 5-6 coats).
I have swatched these over a black base. The major colour it reflects on black base are green (dark metallic olive kinds) , Shimmery copper, Warm orange and sparkly reddish brown. It is very difficult to describe the colour. There is definitely a mystic charm and glamour to this polish which will compel you to twist and twirl your fingers every while to check what’s the colour this polish reflects now! It is totally unpredictable. This is on lines of duo chrome polish, maybe better. First duo chrome I guess in drugstore brands. And that is why it is so sought after.
It doesn’t take a lot of time to dry as it is extremely thin. The pictures attached here are all without top coat. I also took the liberty of using my new member in polish family- Mr. Sharpie. My colleague at work helped me get a lot of Sharpies from US. I have used metallic Silver Sharpie here for this Heena like pattern.
Overall Rating: The effect of the polish is mesmerising specially to a person who doesn’t have access to duo/multi chromes from brands like ILNP or Dance Legend. It is definitely a polish every polish addict should have. I am gonna try it on a different base very soon and share it here. I will go with 4/5, I wish the polish was opaque.
What are the base colours on which you have tried Fantasy Fire? Does Fantasy Fire catch your fancy? Do you think this is a must have for a polish lover? Well I think so, but let me know what you think.
