Dry Brush Nail Art

Hi Girls, Its a happy Saturday Morning today. Yes, although I had to go to work today inspite being Saturday there is something about today that makes me chirpy and happy. One of the reason could be, as soon as I entered in Office today, I was presented a Red Rose and a Big Chocolate Box for ‘Womens Day’ by my office. It kind of made my day.

There is one other good and bad thing that happened yesterday. Good , that I tried a new technique (Dry Brush) and I was fairly successful in it. Yes, I think my results came out quite decent and colorful. Even the pictures justified the bright colors. I got good shots. And thank goodness, I decided to click pictures of nails before I attempted stamping on the Dry Brush base.

Because the bad news is, I spoilt the pretty and colorful Dry Brush base left, right and centre by stamping over it. The choice of the image was wrong I guess. I should have gone with a bolder image rather than a delicate one.

My husband kept on insisting on other image but I decided not to listen to him and ended up with this.

Anyways, for this mani I used NYX Nude White as a base. It is an excellent base for nail art and equally pretty on its own too. I love this nude. Over that I ran dry brush strokes of Sally Hansen Pacific Blue, Salon Perfect Traffic Cone , Models Own Flip Flop and Tip Top Pot-O-Berry. I was worried abut the color selection but I think I did a good job. Each color added its own charm on my nails.

The photgraphs also justified the cheerfulness till I decided to stamp and sppoil it. For damage control, I decided to paint black hex matte glitter on rest of the fingers so that they look in sink. It saved my embarrasment by a bit.

Dry Brush is a very easy and fun technique in itself. And the best thing is you absolutely need no any nail art tools for it. You can just start with the polish you have. Also, you can use your old goopy dried polish for this look.

How to do Dry Brsuh Nail Art : All you have to do is to wait for the base color to be dry. Pick up colors that contrast the base.Wipe off all the polish from the brush and then dab a couple of times lightly on a tissue paper. Then slowly and casually draw random patterns on your nails by just dragging the polish brush. Please make sure that lines are not opaque or complete, they need to look dry and incomplete. Do this with as many colors you want to acheive the desired result.

I hope you try it out soon and if you have any doubt please feel free to check with me. I did these nails for #nailthattechnique challenge. I am so loving this challenge , it is making me explore new techniques. Please join us on IG by using #nailthattechnique.
