Hi Girls, today I have a colourful and peppy nail art to share with you. I have always loved painting all my nails with different colors since childhood. But when I was small no one allowed me colouring my nails and now I that am grown up, I find it kiddish!! What a Catch 22 situation!
Still I went far by my standards and got different bright colors on all nails. I had to review a monochrome black & white decal, so I thought of this fun way of having different colors as base.
The Nail Art Decal I am reviewing today is from ThatJaneDesigns. The pattern is called “Pattern Play”. It is a black print decal with abstract patterns on clear base.
Packaging and First Impressions: It comes in a cute plastic wrapping and a set of instructions on how to use them on its back. I am glad that they mention it is on a clear base. A lot of decal companies don’t bother informing whether the base is clear or white, leaving you wondering till you open it.
The base colors I used are (from thumb to pinky) – Maybelline Color Show Blueberry Ice, NYX Salon Finish Pastel Yellow, Models Own Polish for Tans- Sun Hat, Models Own Hypergel – Turquoise and Maybelline Color Show Tangerine Treat.
Usage: The decal was like any other decal, except I felt it thicker after separating from the paper backing. The other decals are thinner and leaner. I don’t know if it is a good thing or bad but it did not create any problem.
Application: The design and pattern of the decal are undoubtedly edgy. I own a fair amount of decals but these are unusual prints. They are cute and trendy. I got compliments at work too. It is like webbed rectangles. I enjoy such complex geometric designs.
Two things I disliked about the decal are:
- The width of the decal is not exactly apt for your fingers. You may not be able to cover the entire width of your nails. It gets difficult managing to have them pull through till the end. It is just a slight (1mm) short of my nail width and so some you may not feel it.
- The decals may bleed depending on the top coat you use. I found the black bleeding out when using a local coat. So suggestion is to be quick in top coat application.
Final Verdict: Apart from the two points there is nothing to dislike in then decal. The collection of Jane’s shop is great. I have one more set waiting to be reviewed and they are even more fun. I am eagerly waiting to get them on my nails.
She stocks beautiful unusual medi rings too. I find her decals standing out from the ones available in market in terms of designs. They are cute, cool and fresh.Jane runs free International shipping at times and sales too, just watch!
