Indian Festival Dussehra Nail Art

Hi Friends, there is festivity in full swing in India here 🙂 . We have so much round the corner. We have Dussehra or Vijayadashmi tommorow. We celebrate Dussehra to rejoice the victory of good over evil. The name Dussehra is derived from Sanskrit Dasha-hara literally means The sun will not rise (Dasha (sun) and Hara (defeat)) referring to Lord Rama‘s victory over the ten-headed demon king Ravana. It is believed that it was on this day that Lord Rama killed Ravana, the demon King of Lanka to rescue his beloved wife Sita, after cutting ten heads of Ravana, on the tenth day of the ensuing battle.

This festival is also called “Vijayadashmi” , wherein Goddess Durga, an incarnation of Mother Goddess, is revered with great religious fervor and on the day of Vijayadashmi, her idols are immersed in water with tremendous pomp and show.

So I decided on doing some Dussehra Nails. I am very happy the way it turned out.

On my accent nail I have Goddess Durga and on rest of the nails is her blessings showering and festivity.

I did a gradient with Maybelline Colorshow Sweet Sunshine and Enchant Orange on all my nails except accent.Yellow and Orange are very auspicious colors for we Indians. To denote the festivity and celebration I stamped filigrees from Moyou Suki Plate 07 and ColorShow Bold Gold.

The nail art looks festive and devotional at the end. This is not an art piece where I will ask for comments and likes because this is just my tribute to this festival. I hope all the darkness in our heart is conquered by the light within.
