Hi Girls, I have been participating in STN Challenges for a few months now. The themes are fab and they make me push my limits each time. I enjoy myself during these challenges, no doubt some of my nailarts for themes fail terribly. But I am not giving up any time soon 😛
The theme for this week was “Inspired By A Painting”. Now I have 3 paintings at my home, two of mom made and gifted by her and one purchased. But I didn’t feel the kick to get them on my nails, maybe because I have been seeing them everyday. I will do nail art inspired by them soon, it’s on my To-Do list but last night was not the day.
This is again one of those nail arts which was very lengthy like Life Of Pi Inspired Nails where I took hours and did lot of permutation – combinations to get the look. It was confusing and exhausting enough for me to forget how I did and what I did.
I will not be able to re-create exactly if asked. But I am sure I will make a better one because I noticed a lot of mistakes with this one :(. I was upset enough to remove and redo at least on one hand. But it was 11 at night and the horror of putting so much more effort over powered me. And my back was like cracking into pieces.
This nail art is done on a white nail polish base using all possible colors of acrylic paint to achieve the result. The effects may not be distinctly visible because of the small canvas that a nail is and an imperfect nail artist that I am :(. I enjoy free hand , esp if the result comes out well.
I was not sure of what painting to use for inspiration and just could not think for days. Eventually yesterday night I googled lots of painting and stuck on this one. And after facing difficulty in nail art now I think it was not a correct pick :(. It is so difficult anyways to capture the details of huge paintings to micro nails. It was fun though. I did mistakes and learnt from them as well :).
The painting I took cues from is below and is a form of knife painting (as updated by one of my friends who has knowledge of it). That is the reason when I was trying to replicate the background patchiness with brush I was failing. But overall, I have tried to capture the essence 🙂
I did nail art on both hands, I so wanted to take a pass on right hand but my heart wouldn’t allow. My hubby was suggesting at the end , I should do only one hand. So that I could focus more and use all energy and concentration to one and the results would be better. I agree, had I just done one hand, I am sure I would have done better. I am anyways left with little stamina after office and routine house hold responsibilities exhaust me even more. So, it makes sense if I do only one hand. Also doing with non dominant hand is double exhausting. But I am still not convinced if I should do one hand only.
What do you guys say? One hand or both? What would you love to see more? And don’t forget to tell me how you feel about my nail art. I hope you like it.
