Finally, after going through an ocean of inspiration but zero motivation I am here with my “Inspired By Movie Nail Art”. I am very fascinated by doing inspiration manis these days and they bring the best out of me :). But somehow I was not very enthusiastic about doing a Mani inspired by movie. The concept is right and I have done movie inspired nails in past; Up Movie and Despicable Me. But this time I was short of ideas and execution plan.
Anyways, after lots of push and brainstorming I settled with Life Of Pi. Actually it was suggested by my husband to do a ‘Life of Pi’ inspired mani. He sent me few images of tigers through out the day so that I could pick up cues and practice. But with office , home and blog ; I frankly fail to devote time practicing. I know it’s too bad. And I am working on it.
I was so tired after work and this mani drained out my life 😛 . It was so difficult to get the tiger and his angry expression. And that too squeezed to a nail size. Pheww!! I really what I did and how I did this, numerous permutations and combinations. And now I have forgotten which technique did I settle for at last.It was all jumbled up.Maybe also, it was not my day. You know one of the days where the brush, paint and ideas all revolt against you.
As far as I remember I used NYX Pastel Yellow, Faces Atomic Orange and a golden polish to get the desired color by rough sponging:P. For tiger stripes and face I used Black Acrylic Paint. And can you believe, when I was ready with base and everything what did I find??? My black Acrylic paint had dried up!!!! It is an ‘end of life’ situation for nail artist. No Black!!! I mixed water and tried to revive a bit of it, but it was of very sub-standard consistency. I had no option however, so I tried my best to use it.
And also, after my mani was finished and showed it to my husband, he was not happy with it 🙁 🙁 . He is my critic and guide; and now displeased by the tiger. He even asked me try again, all over again!! I was like, its 12 at night and I have no energy even go through all that again. I would never attempted this again and given up, had it not worked.
I assured him that after I do the top coat, finishing and cleaning ; it will look better. And after all these chores the mani did look a notch or two better. I had messed up my hands, legs and face a lot while doing this nail art. Yes, I had acrylic paints and nail paints all over my body!!.And I have no clue how??
Well, at the end this is how it came out. I am not sure if you will adore it or like it or appreciate my art. But one thing I assure you with anyone who has ever tried doing a tiger, that too on both hands will appreciate my efforts and sweat:)
Pls do let me know how you feel about this and if there was any thing I could have done to make it better.

Thanks Madhu. The tiger face was way more difficult than I had anticipated. And trust even after lots of attempt I wasnt happy. But hearing all you guys praise I re-gained confidence in me and my tiger 🙂
Its awesome Setu…I loved it and a big applause to you that you painted the tiger with polish. I will eventually dry out my polish if I try painting with them 😉
Aww Thanks a lot dear for lovely words :). Acrylics is easier but I think Polish gives a bit more resistance and control for steady hands. So for some particular design I prefer polish, ex drawing astraight line with polish is neater n easier with Polish. Try It 🙂
Such an original idea. I love the detail on the tiger . Nice work x
Charlie Thanks a Lot Dear…..All your comments mean a lot to me 🙂
