Maybelline Baby Lips in Mango Pie Review

Hi Girls, I am back to the review zone after long. Yes, I had been very busy with nail arts and somehow I have a soft corner for nail art so this one took a back seat :(. Lip Balm or a chap stick is a basic necessity item for a girl and we inherently experiment all the variants and brands one can possibly find in market and which possibly fits in out budgets :D. I am sure we all do that. Although we may like all “pros’ to one lip balm, we hate being stationed. We hunt for more varieties, brands, product reviews, new launches and what not 😛 . I have used Bodyshop Lip Balms for long and loved them so much. There was a period when I felt this is my soul mate, but did I stop looking? Nooo. And lip balms after lip balms said ‘Hello’ to my lips for short while :P.

And this is how I stumbled upon this one. Now, I have used and finished the Maybelline Baby Lip (Rose Addict) which was again like a perfect tinted lip balm. But when this one got over, I wanted to try something new, at least another variant. That’s how I picked up the Mango Pie.

My Experience with Maybelline Baby Lips in Mango Pie

To begin with, I did not like this the first time I used it. It was hard and refused to spread on my lips :(. This was exactly the way the Maybelline Baby Lip (Rose Addict) had behaved when it was new. So I gave it the benefit of doubt of continued using it for a couple of days. And it did get better :). The lip balm would easily spread out on my lips without rubbing it.

There is a slight mango flavor to the lip balm, so mango lovers would enjoy :). The lip balm is not tinted, it is colorless. I had been kind of loving the tinted Maybelline Baby Lip (Rose Addict) so I missed it. Although I am not for using tinted lip balms, I fell in love with the rose addict. I felt that the mango pie was not as thick as the Rose Addict and it would not spread on my lips as easily. The difference was only slight but could be felt by my lips. These are just little things I could notice but overall it is a very good lip balm to try in the range.

Maybelline Baby Lips in Mango Pie

Pros:

  • Inexpensive
  • Easily Available
  • Available in 7 variants giving ample choice
  • Cute packaging
  • Light on lips
  • Doesn’t give greasy or waxy feeling to lips
  • Hydrates lips to some extent
  • Stays for approx 3 hour
  • Doesn’t have strong fragrance or taste, resisting the urge to eat it :P
  • Has SPF 20

Cons:

  • Doesn’t come very well in just one glide
  • Little hard so one may need to sub a little to get more
  • Could be more hydrating and richer
  • I wish it was little more thicker

Will I re-purchase again?

No. I may go back to the Rose Addict. ( Update :I just lost this lip balm, I just cant find it 🙁 🙁 🙁 ). I feel this is God’s way of telling me I should not use what I don’t like. So I will purchase a new one rather than hunting for the lost one 😛 😛 😛 )

Would I recommend it to others?

Maybe.I did not enjoy this variant as much I enjoyed the Rose addict. It is a good product at this price. For people who do not use tinted lip balm this is a good alternative.

Overall Rating: 3/5

Availability: All beauty shops, medical stores, malls, online shopping etc.

Interesting review. I have seen these and want to try them, but unless I am missing something really obvious (which is quite possible with me) the tinted vs. untinted shades are hard to distinguish from the packaging.

I will be looking for the Rose one though 🙂

Thanks Jeanette. I think its written on the packaging, yet I am not sure. The SA or a tester could help 🙂
Rose Addict is a good one, there are other tinted variants as well ex- Pink Lolita etc but I have not tried them yet 🙂
